Recommitting to Paleo & Pickin’ Up My Cape

If you would’ve asked me during the first 3 days of my paleo challenge if I’d ever thought I would miss it, I would’ve told you a flat out NO. I’ve had time to think and also some time to revert back to some old eating habits. It’s nothing too terrible but I am not feeling anywhere near how I did while I was eating the paleo way. I swear that eating nothing but whole foods exclusively (plus bacon and butter!) made me feel more energized, it helped clear up my skin and it helped me drop fat FAST. I lost a total of 8 pounds that month that I didn’t even know I had to lose.

All signs point me to paleo. Or in simple terms, eating whole foods.

I don’t have a tentative “start date” this time around but what I’m doing is gradually making better choices. In the next few days I’m going to get a large variety of meal ideas in place (thank you Pinterest and the book mentioned in this post) so that I have a lot to choose from. One thing that frustrates me with paleo is how so many of the foods/snacks revolve around eggs. I can’t eat those. :( I’m determined to try a bunch of new things in hopes of making it easier for me to get into the habit of eating whole foods ALL THE TIME. Crap food makes me feel like crap. Good food makes me feel good. Seems like a no-brainer but it’s tough after getting set in your ways of what you eat for dinner on a regular basis and things like that.

Challenges are good. Challenge = change and change = growth.

At this time, I invite you to pick up your cape and make a choice to do one thing that’s good for you. Something that challenges you, something you’ve always wanted to do. It could be anything!

goddess of new beginnings

Today’s Workout:

ChaLEAN Extreme Burn Circuit 2. I really forgot how much I enjoy this workout! You can check out the results of each workout I did through the first round of CE in this Google Docs Spreadsheet.

This workout even includes moves that target the sides of your hips and butt. It’s amazing. If you’ve heard of bowling lunges, you know what I’m talking about.

New Beachbody Hybrid Added!

For those interested in combining Les Mills Pump and Les Mills Combat, I just added the hybrid. You can check it out on the Beachbody Program Schedules & Page (will open in new window).

Now it’s time for homework.

Enjoy your Tuesday!
